Bleep,bleep - and Abby cat brings in R6 000 |
|
TireWorld Exports in Hillcrest has donated cat food and blankets worth R6 000 to the Kloof SPCA after it recovered a micro-chipped cat.
Mark Mead, owner of the firm took the decision to donate some funds to the SPCA as part of the company's contribution towards the community. But he also thanked the SPCA for retrieving his cat, Abby that went missing a while back.
Abby was fitted with a microchip before she went missing and this helped locate her. She was found by a couple in Langford who lured her into their yard and brought her to the Kloof SPCA.
Mead said, "The SPCA is reliant on the public, their service was well deserved and worth a donation".
Educational officer at the SPCA, Barbara Masterton, said that microchipping was essential.
"Mark's cat was missing for almost two months and just when he thought all was lost, the SPCA recovered Abby", said Masterton.
Mead added, "If we take such good care of our kids, why can't an animal be part of the family. Micro-chipping helps with making animals part of the family."
Quinn Jones of the Kloof SPCA accepts the donation of cat food and blankets to the value of R6000 from Mark Mead owner of TireWorld Exports in Hillcrest.
