Home-based Aids care gets a boost |
|
Tireworld Exports of Hillcrest recently opened their hearts and pockets to the Hillcrest Aids Centre by donating a cheque of R13300.00.
The donation was awarded to the
centre on 22 August, to help towards the purchase of medication used by the
home based care unit and people who do not have funds or means of accessing
treatment.
Tireworld saw this as an
opportunity for them to make a positive contribution to the community, and to
inspire other companies to follow in their footsteps.
"Aids is a reality and these
medicines will assist those in need," says Mark Mead about the company's good
deed. The staff of the centre were pleased with the gesture because they need
all the assistance they can receive to help their patients.
"This medicine will help a lot
with those that cannot come to the centre or afford medication," said Sister
Princess Mkhize who manages the home based care section at the centre.
