Mark MeadGiving back to the community

In South Africa, as in many African countries, unemployment is a problem that must be solved. The government cannot create jobs without the help of private companies and individuals. It's easy to write a cheque to a charity but that only alleviates the problem rather than solving it.

Tireworld believes in a more proactive approach.

Business owner, Mark Mead regularly holds Workshops and Seminars aimed at assisting emerging entrepreneurs to unlock their potential. He shares his many years of experience as a business owner and exporter with many young South Africans to encourage them to create opportunities for themselves and others. "I know there is a lot of potential business out there for individuals who are willing to commit to hard work and a real commitment to service excellence." comments Mark.

Mark provides insights into finance, export controls and logistics. "If I can encourage one South African to start his own business, he/she will eventually employ other people and serve as an example to others. This is how we will make a difference." he concludes.

African Bird Of Prey Sanctuary - New Enclosure

eagle4

The Mead family recently built an enclosure block for some interesting eagles that have been permanently injured and need a safe place to live out their lives.  This is part of a public awareness project at the African Bird of Prey Sanctuary just outside Pietermaritzburg.

Over 150 raptors are treated at the facility's onsite hospital Raptor Rescue and the majority of the casualties are treated for their injuries and returned to the wild. Some, unfortunately, are no longer able to fly sufficiently to catch their own prey and are then housed in the public section of the Sanctuary where visitors  can learn about our indigenous raptors and the threats that they face.

SPCA

Did you know?

Each year the SPCA receives almost 5000 animals as strays or unwanted pets.

They sterilize about 80 animals each month.

They undertake mor than 500 investigations into animal cruelty every year.

At any one time, they are caring for and feeding over 100 animals.

Their clinic does 25 vetrinary consultations for primary healthcare per day.

They pay for 10 cases a month to other vetrinarians for specialised cases.

Their mobile clinic visits the poorest of the poor to undertake primary healthcare.

The animals count on the SPCA 365 days a year!

Can they count on you?

To fund this, they need your support.
