Draw quality from life rather than quantitiy,

His message is clear, "Our children are the future." And this is the force behind most of the motivational topics discussed by this prominent businessman who has been involved in the export business in and around Africa for more than 10 years.
Mark recently spoke to children, parents and teachers at a Virginia Preparatory School in Durban North where he told them corporate South Africa was dying and that it needed to be infused by youth who had learnt from an early age about business and how to make money.
His journey to becoming a motivational speaker is quite remarkable since he stumbled on it quite by accident. "About a year ago I had gone to attend an export talk and at the eleventh hour the speaker did not pitch up. The convener asked if anyone wanted to speak. I took the helm and the rest is," said a confident Mark.
His motivational speaking has taken off and while the focus of the talks is to motivate the youth it also covers starting one's own business and how to become successful in business.
In 1997 and 2001 Mark won national competitions as entrepreneur of the year and over the years has also received several awards for his spirit of innovation and subsequent business accomplishments.
One of his business coups was to negotiate business deals with warlords in Somalia at the height of the country's civil war.
When he's not motivating the youth, he spends time with his wife and two children and cruises KwaZulu-Natal at weekends on his Harley Davidson.
He quotes several mottos, one which his father told him: " I work to live I don't live to work."
His advice to people out there is to 'draw quality from life rather than quantity'.
He now looks back after ten years in business with the arrogance of his youth and the wisdom of his age and maturity'.
A member of the South African Guest Speaker Society, Mark donates all guest speaker fees to the Animal Anti‑Cruelty League.
